The Annual Good Sportsmanship Award
in Memory of
Donna Enerson

Every year the Chapter
presents an award
(traveling trophy) to a good sportsman from among the members of LVCCDS. This award is sponsored by Charlotte Nielson in memory of Las Vegas dressage rider Donna Marie Enerson.
Donna lived in Las Vegas for 19 years before her death in 2008. She was an avid dressage rider in our Chapter, reaching her stated goal of making it into the Western Regional Championships in 2007.
Charlotte has said, ‘Donna defined good sportsmanship. She always helped out before, during, and after every show. She never balked at the hard work and loved to get dirty. She donated time, prizes, and baked goods. Even when she was eliminated for jumping out of the court, she was not discouraged.”
The LVCCDS would like to honor Donna by presenting this award to a deserving member who exhibits a positive attitude; shows respect to teammates, coaches, officials and opponents; practices self-control and handles winning as well as loss with character.
The traveling trophy will be presented at the Annual Awards Banquet and Silent Auction on January 15, 2023. Please contact us with you nomination. Give us the name of your nominee and tell us why he/she deserves this prestigious award from LVCCDS.
Janine Karas Memorial FEI High Point Award
The Janine Karas Memorial FEI High Point Award was started by Janine’s husband, Tim in 2018, the year of her passing. Those who are long time participants in the LV dressage community knew Janine as an avid horsewoman and accomplished competitor.
Janine was the manager of the Silk Purse Ranch between 1994 and 2018. The Silk Purse Ranch was one of the first and largest horse training and boarding facility in the LV valley.
Each year, the Chapter recognizes the combination rider and equine partner who scored the highest in riding any FEI level test in our local rated shows.
